Is this against Instagram's rules?
No. commentfor is built entirely on Meta's official Instagram API — the same platform Meta provides to business tools. There is no scraping, no bots, and no password sharing, so there is no risk to your account.
Do I need a business account?
Yes — an Instagram professional account (Business or Creator). Switching is free and takes a minute in the Instagram app; the official API requires it.
What can trigger a DM?
A keyword comment on any post or reel you choose, or a story reply or @mention. You pick the keyword per campaign — "LINK", "GUIDE", "PRICE", anything — and commentfor matches it instantly.
What does the follower receive?
A DM from your account with your message and a tracked link. You can also enable a public reply under their comment, a follow-gate before the link, or a multi-step DM sequence.
How many DMs can I send?
The Base plan includes 1,000 DMs a month on one account. Pro raises that to 50,000 a month across multiple accounts, and Max and Ultra go higher still — with pacing that always stays inside Meta's official sending limits.
What is the follow-gate?
An optional step that asks the commenter to follow you before the link is delivered. commentfor checks whether they follow your account and sends the link as soon as they do — turning link requests into followers.
How does lead capture work?
With the email gate on, the first DM asks for an email address before the link goes out. When the person replies with one, commentfor stores it encrypted, delivers the link, and shows the lead in your dashboard — with CSV export, and automatic forwarding to Kit or Flodesk if you connect them.
Can I automate more than one Instagram account?
Yes — Pro supports multiple Instagram accounts managed from one dashboard, built for agencies and multi-brand teams.
How fast are the DMs?
Matching comments get their DM within seconds. Sending is paced safely under Instagram's official platform limit of 750 private replies per hour, with bursts queued — messages are delivered, never blasted.
Can I DM people who already commented on an old post?
Yes — Rewind lets an automation message people who commented before you set it up, inside Instagram's 7-day private-reply window. Instagram allows one private reply per comment, and commentfor enforces that automatically.
How do I delete my data?
Two ways: disconnect your Instagram account in the dashboard for an immediate full purge, or remove commentfor from your Instagram settings — Meta then notifies us and we purge automatically. Full steps are on the Data Deletion page.
